May 1, 2017 Revisited Pt. 10: The Anniversary

Today is the day. The 1 year anniversary of 757/Blacksburg Storm Chasing. This is usually the part where I say “we’ve come a long way in the past year”, but we haven’t really gone anywhere. Yet. Before I get sidetracked, here’s today’s picture:

After reaching South Boston, we gave up any hope of continuing the chase and surrendered to a punch before heading back west to go home. Somewhere in between SoBo and Danville, we were suddenly greeted by the first hint of blue sky of the day (it had been rainy that morning) with a hint of sunset in the background.

Now then…on to the future. Unfortunately, our plans are limited by dependence on chase partners with vehicles. However, there is still a plan for growth. In 2 weeks, we will be out on the Plains with the Hokie Storm team, so expect plenty of footage to come out of that trip. That chase coupled with our alliance with NOVA Storm Chasing will hopefully be able to establish us in the storm chasing community. The rest of the summer will likely not yield any true chases but expect plenty of photography nonetheless.

So there’s our plan. Thank you for following us and we look forward to sharing the next year of weather with you!
